Donna took me to another movie-I brought her a rose

I brought Donna back a single rose- primarily because we made love. Secondly, we made hotel reservations for the beach- we were there last September and decided to return. It is almost too long to wait for a vacation, but it gives me plenty of time to read things that could possibly have anything to do with where we'll be and what we'll be doing. To begin the first-weekend-waiting-for-the-long-weekend, Donna wanted to see a film; I said it would be a good way to look forward to the romantic weekend.
I liked the film as a film; there is a shot-reverse-shot series that begins the credit sequence that seems obvious, but by the end of the film I thought that there hadn't been a top-shot. Minutes after I realized it a well-placed top-shot of the actress was included near the conclusion of the film. The lighting in the film was more than passable for a romantic comedy. While walking back I mention that this was one of the better romantic comedies where there is some thinking, or thoughts with feelings; I prefer it to some of this years' films. I mentioned that the films with Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Anniston are based on the actresses being comedic; whether its fair or not, or accurate or not, I literally said something to the effect  that it was 'Diaz and Anniston on screen shaking around', meaning that they've developed themselves on screen as attractions and part of the film may be centered on their being comedic in a recognizable or individualized way- the humor based on the star. But....I would think there is more to scriptwriting.
Donna recently styled her hair shorter- its pretty. "I cut it with bangs and layered it", she said, staring over my shoulder as I blogged.
So its a new look, actually with several new dresses for the summer that are in fact suprisingly sexy (nice) and later a return to the beach to make the summer nights in some way newer, or more intimate.

Donna took me to another movie (Zelda Strikes Again?)

Donna and I had a luncheon to go to this noontime (hamburgers, potato salad) and after she wanted to go to a film. It's always her choice of which film and we missed Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows, but it was a good film, camerawork included. The beginning shot of interest was a double top shot, ie. two adjacent top shots from different positions, but some of the compositions were well-thought out, not only that but the story is good. There is a supporting actress that actually would qualify more for best actress, if you consider the film.
We were going to walk through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. and follow the river to return here
 nightfall to watch fireworks, but she didn't see any reason or point to it.
Things are romantic, without any emotional roller coaster, and not only that, but the hawk next door has learned how to circle the building and land on the roof.
I'm waiting to film the Boston skyline on my laptop tonight. In short, I have turned 50 and have officially moved in with Donna after informally living with her and being nearly inseperable for a  year.
Donna has on a beautiful new silver dress. In regard to the war, Old Ironsides was written by Oliver Wendell Holmes and I'll try to find a Houghton Mifflin copy of it soon this week. The actual battle that began the war of 1812 from, once again Boston Harbour, dated August 19, 1812.

Donna took me to another movie, our one year anniversary nears

I just looked over to her and asked, "Do you want the coil in the bed included" and she answered, "Yes, just when we were..." I'm not quite sure it isn't too intimate, I really wasn't serious about writing that we were thinking of buying a new bed and that we didn't know how urgent the need was until while making love. Our anniversary is nearing and we happened to go to Boston- we agreed that we should go for a walk after the film, but it turned out that on her suggestion we walked along the Charles River, which put us in the middle of the subway stations. We decided it was a nice night and walked the entire way from Tremont Street to the apartment in Cambridge. She liked the rotundra near the top of the Common and from there we just continued.
During the year, maybe its been that most screenplays that are now in theaters can begin ideas about what can be included in a novel, so I tend to make sure that if she does want to see it, we not only go, but I look at it objectively. Tonight my thought was:
Changing the light during the shot as opposed to changing the light during the scene or sequence, therefore the angle of the light upon the subject. From there, the amount of movement of the subject, while the light is changing during the shot.

Donna took me to another movie, I brought her breakfast

To begin the year, Donna felt like going to New Years Eve, but due to the cold and the crowded subway on the holiday, we went to one in Cambridge, rather than Boston. Movies we go to I never review: there are three presently on the marquee now playing that we have seen together. She's a petite; I bought her a red wool zippered jacket for the holiday.
Another movie together: I usually tell her I love her during the middle of the film. The movies we saw during 2011 included:

Friends with Benefits

ok: they are the movies she wants to see, (whenever she feels like one), not necessarily the ones I would in any way be involved with personally.
Rhetorically- that they are seen for fun and romance is enough?

Donna took me to another movie, I gave her a poinsettia.

The poinsettia that I gave Donna is still healthy after two weeks. It's a four inch tall miniature poinsettia, which I like better.
Tonight we went to another movie together. The last one was My Week With Marilyn, and the trailer should be included in this blog under the appropriate label. We attended an all you can eat pizza buffet last night and had planned another buffet for this afternoon, but neglected to go. Its seldom that we have pizza together (I had nearly stopped altogether when I was lifting daily).

Donna took me to another movie, invited me to Thanksgiving Mass and a full turkey

The calendar that Donna was given at Thanksgiving Mass includes the paintings of Simon Vouet,Sandro Botticelli,Ghirlandali,Crivelli,Cagnacci, Guercino and Zubaran. A Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, whom I have always liked as a painter of the human form seems the exception in the time frame during which they were painted. The are painterly and painstakingly accurate in being true to life, irregardless of their theme. i didn't realize how near Ingres was to the Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist time periods.
Donna and I had had lunch together, which she was happier with than I thought she would be-and then surprisingly she brought home a full, cooked turkey, my guess being one more than ten pounds. For whatever reason she was happy with lunch before the windfall of the turkey, which in turn made it a long weekend of Thanksgiving dinner.
She was looking forward to the movie and the weather was nice enough so that we could walk.
