Donna said Thank You for Last Night-Scott Lord: Universal Sherlock Holmes Trailers
Postscript: This morning Donna said, "Thank You for last night." We were awake untill late and showered in the middle of the night. Within my new novel, I want to work on her having said, "That's because you make me feel beautiful."- I had given her a compliment just as we were about to go to bed and may interweave the responsorial into fiction.
I wrote what is below last night. It happenned to be that I was listening to "The Speckled Band", the last words heard spoken during a night of murder, and an installment in the series entitled "Double Zero". Interstingly, it was an adventure that was depicted on the airwaves of radio by Basil Rathbone, but the earlier screen version starred Raymond Massey, which would be of special interest if you were listening to the radio broadcasts, which are more numerous than the films, after having seen all of the Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce films.
While with Donna I have returned to a NIGHTLY practice of listening to old time radio. The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are better than I once thought.
In the past week they have covered Holmes under the name of a Norwegian explorer in Tibet, the daughter of Irene Adler appearing in Sussex 1909 and Moriarty appearing in a 1908 stage play version, much like the William Gillette version, playing himself on stage in front of Holmes.
After the half hour I try a new Old Time Radio show that I've never heard before- last night was Boris Karloff in Lights Out (The Suspense-Escape series), sometimes I'll try a Weird Circle or a Murder at Midnight or a Murder by Experts- the CBS Radio Mystery Theater and The Shadow were the two that I listened to when young, and am stilled more than pleased with.
Tonight it seems like I'll be listening to another in that I'll be typing at the computer and it is easier than listening to music while typing.
I need to look for more trailers that will combine with these.

Donna and Jane Eyre
Donna was out this afternoon and unavailable for a screening of Jane Eyre. Although we had lunch together, she had an appointment during the afternoon. The version that was screened that we were invited to apparently is fairly recent.

Boston:Donna and I;another quiet Friday Night, passionate Thursday midnight.
The key is that there is a search box on the top of the internet archive if you use the text section, therefore, any book can be searched for its index- quickly.
Meaning, I'm in a coffee in Boaton looking at existant architecture. Henry Cabot Lodge, if you use the regular, or first wave, of search, wrote a book entitled Boston, which consists of the history of tne Revolutionary War.
To go on, Oliver Wendall Holmes wrote a volume on his college experience in Boston. Search that for street names or sections of Boston in the next wave of search and it is exactly four minutes past the hour. That fast- during coffee- and I can continue to find what we have on the buildings downtown that are across the street and how they looked in the 19th century.
I can meet Donna for the second coffee and bagel; usually, most often,I have a french toast bagel with either cream cheese or with egg, ham and cheese.

Christmas Scene: Boston From A Downtown Coffee Shop
This is where I am now. Having been at my desk during a movie last night, I'm wondering how pressed for time i am in regard to writing. I jotted down notes on a novel and an its accompanying poetry. Some were based on the emotions of yesterday.
Donna and I were were talking this morning and I think she would still like a blender for Christmas to make "dietetic smoothies", but she didn't have her a dvd player, so I brought her one. She bought me a winter coat and gave it to me early. It's nice. This morning I put on a Christmas album, one that I had given her, while she was hurriedly getting dressed and she happenned to have liked the idea.
I listened to The Limping Ghost last night, which was based on the Sherlock Holmes story, The Adventure of the Crooked Man.
I am right now having coffee in Boston near the birthplace of Ralph Waldo Emerson and the photograph above is how it looked in the year 1910.
Of course Google Sites and its rss night be better for writing a novel in progress than a quick blog almost disc-jockeyed from a coffee shop. Not only that but why it takes longer is that its a translation of perceptions and observations, therefore emotions, into fictions.
I was in fact , and in Cambridge, fact here yesterday on a parallel street. There are somethings about it that I just do not right now know, and can only surmise.

"I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835- It is coming again next year (1910)"K
King Arthur might not exactly be the Almighty. Halley's Comet may have actually put him in office. It happenned to, according to Edmond Halley, who wrote Synopsis of the Astronomy of Comets in 1705, appeared at the call of either Harold II of England and William the Conquerer who had the battle to decide divine right at Hastings, and most probably a battle to death. It also put's Stonehenge under the historical retrospective of whichever rode upon a rainbow into heaven to rain light through the sky.
I probably have a silent film for you, Mr.Twain.
As for William Dean Howells, we could bother with some of these:

Donna took me to another movie, invited me to Thanksgiving Mass and a full turkey
The calendar that Donna was given at Thanksgiving Mass includes the paintings of Simon Vouet,Sandro Botticelli,Ghirlandali,Crivelli,Cagnacci, Guercino and Zubaran. A Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, whom I have always liked as a painter of the human form seems the exception in the time frame during which they were painted. The are painterly and painstakingly accurate in being true to life, irregardless of their theme. i didn't realize how near Ingres was to the Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist time periods.
Donna and I had had lunch together, which she was happier with than I thought she would be-and then surprisingly she brought home a full, cooked turkey, my guess being one more than ten pounds. For whatever reason she was happy with lunch before the windfall of the turkey, which in turn made it a long weekend of Thanksgiving dinner.
She was looking forward to the movie and the weather was nice enough so that we could walk.

What would Donna be writing? Hallmark Movel Channel ,Lifetime Movie Network
What would Donna be writing?
Nightly? Either Hallmark Movie Channel or Lifetime Movie Network.
I can't get a classic movie in, so as a writer, I went back to listening to Old Time Radio, which recently has included The CBS Mystery Theater, Murder at Midnight, The Shadow, Weird Circle, Murder by Experts and could include any radio drama broadcast between 1930 and 1949. I haven't yet listened to the Basil Rathbone-Tom Conway Nigel Bruce series yet, but shall. I acquired the taste for it when I found out that while you're typing, you can play an MPG file. I'm sure they listened to radio drama while typing back in 1938, this just consolidates the keyboard with the amplitude modulation.
Last night Donna took me to dinner again, which to me is a compliment as I appreciate actually getting the date and to her its a thank you that I implore her to accept; it came in the middle of three very beautiful late nights, where we we hopping into the shower at two in the morning after having made love. Three out of five nights.
Thinking of Cajun that I had had with her sometime last week, I ordered creole Shrimp with rice. Here's the secret: "a ton of shrimp". I thanked her the entire way back to her apartment. It was nice.
What would she be writing? Because it is part of a romantic affair, I linked the two channels she has interest in. She loves a movie after dinner, but stays with only two networks: Lifetime Movie Network and The Hallmark Channel.
Are her parents in New Jersey giving her a lot of unnecessary difficulty about my existence? Maybe. Do I need or ask for their approval? Probably not.
If I read in bed while she's watching a film it will first be finishing The Moon and Sixpence.
Postscript:
Was Shakespeare Dead?
For a culture so adept at pinpointing when Paul McCartney died, it very may well be that there were two William Shakespeares, BUT was Shakespeare held in retirement? Only to write sonnets after being presumed dead?
Let me rephrase my question: Was Shakespeare alive during the reign of the Scottish James I and could Shakespeare have written after being handed a fake death by the King? Was he Elizabethan, not Jacobian?
Was Shakespeare in fact Alive? Is the two Shakespeares a post-humous afterthought?

Although we went shopping together yesterday- she reminded me that I was intending to get new pants and she brought back a new sweater- today we spent a twilight and evening together that seemed uneventful. And yet, after dinner I found The Mystery Theater again. Please click on the above link to enjoy the broadcast.

I showed Donna the Swedenborg Chapel-Yard Closed-Coffee
I showed Donna the Swedenborg Chapel off of Kirkland Street. After we went to King's Chapel, on Tremont, months ago, I told her that any church that we pass we could go inside and she could pray. If I find a church of historical or architectural interest i try to bring her in; today The Wedding Chapel was closed to the public, but they do have study groups on Emmanuel Swedenborg. i explained it was Helen Keller's church.
Harvard Yard closed to the general public- consider the impact, particularly to open air poetry happenings. The ramifications of it not being open to the public. Matters or what? There is a statue given to them by Moore in there that is my favorite work of Modern Art-it could be more erotic for abstract and as a child I did a soap sculpture very much like it: space age.
The yard in the middle of the University is closed and identification is required to enter. So we went for coffee in the Square and they played Donovan (and D'yer Maker) the weather is true, pure New England Autumn. I cooked dinner for her, not her favorite rice, cheese soup and tuna, but something very much like it with noodles and peas.
We in fact has a beautiful walk together- the leaves are changing.

Another weekend with Donna- The Moonstone
We began another weekend together friday with a buffet. There are still flowers on the table that I brought her. In effect, we slept late for the last two days, but I did return to the gym to lift. I'm not lifting as much as when I left the gym in June, but in one week of three lifting seesions I pumped the bench press back up to 190. I had it at 200 when we began seeing each other every day.
Because I'm in the middle of reading The Moon and Sixpence, I thought it would be good also to resume my listening to "Old Time Radio", "OTR". This weekend I listened to an excellent dramatization of The Moonstone from Weird Circle, which was on air between 1947 and 1949. Another was an episode of The Strange Dr. Weird. It is well worth my keeping copies both and, if you haven't really been introduced to the on air radio plays that were popular before the advent of televsion and need to arbitrarily pick a radio adventure or mystery to begin with, these are two that I plunged into in the middle of needing to "just pick any one" out of the thousands of radio mysteries of the 1930's and 1940's.
As a thank you letter to Donna, I very much appreciate having an afternoon where i can listen to these, (particularly with quiet company that may be watching a film.)

Donna took me to yet another film:how did it end?
Donna took me to dinner one night, a pizza, and its been seldom since July that we've had one, and a movie the next.
But how did it end? She needed to go to the bathroom and by the time we got back to our seats, the credits had finished. The movie was exceptional and she actually said it was her favorite that we've seen at that theater. The light play from the begining of the film was nice; geometric shapes accentuated by contrast ratios. I eventually said to Donna there was too much soft-focus in the film, but I generally find that there is in many films. His shot structure varied so that he cut from shot to shot for an entire scene before using a tracking shot, his finally using a reverse angle cut in the middle of the film and then only using a combined dolly, a tracking shot during which he stops to zoom in, later after that.
But the story line to the film is established by cutting back and forth between the present and numerous flashback scenes, which becomes interesting when the two female characters are contrasted in the present.

Caviar on a crumpet with Donna, return to the gym to lift, Castle Films
I returned to the gym for the first time since June to lift. Of course I didn't finish the regular lift and didn't try to lift the same amount of weight as in May. Earlier blog entries have me weighing 135 and lifting 200 on most machines. Today I benched, curled and pulled down with abdomen and torso. After that Donna brought home caviar (whitefish) and I tried it on a toasted crumpet.
These three videos are the same films that I bought when I was in Jr High between 1972 and 1975. I would splice three plastic 150 reels together on to a 300ft metal reel and put that in a metal can.

A bagel and cream cheese waiting for Donna at Holyoke Gate."I don't know what to say.I'm disappointed that you didn't call me after work."
Last night I thinking of going to the gym and resuming some type of lifting program, when Donna changed our plans for lunch today. In bed I just said, "It caught up with me.", meaning the entire scene. The night before I asked her about making love and when she explained how she felt I said, then that was my best to date. Whether it was or not I had added some lengthy foreplay that may have been more than sensitive enough to make it conducive later to a deeper intimacy. Today I called and said, "I don't know what to say." She may have been uptight about her schedule and I just added, "You can call me anytime. Then I'm disappointed that you didn't call me right after work."
If I did happen to see my ex-wife walking in the cold while I was riding the bus, I'm going to try everything to keep that from Donna, even if it amounts in some double standard about men and their emotions. My memory of the ex-wife only comes back in spurts and last night they were slightly heavier and Donna has no idea what might inadvertantly on her part might all of a sudden jog my memory (peanuts-elephants? could be anything really), but being reticient , if not taciturn, is the only need. It looked like I rode by her on a bus while she was walking in Donna's direction, so Hari Krisna, Nami ho rengay kyo: God Love You and Blessed Be- i don't need your life story just beacause we're are no longer married.
I'm picking up Donna after an appointment; I went to Harvard Square to buy Norwegian Shag. I asked someone from the University why we play Holy Cross if we are Ivy League, but told him that I could easily just get a ticket to a game and enjoy it without a question if I just show up. I then went to one her favorite coffee shops, and when I asked for credit, telling the store person that I was waiting for my girlfriend and plans had left me down here without money, he offered to add a bagle and cheese. I owe him the later patronage, if not for a coffee and bagel. I was honestly short. If your my reader, it could be any coffee shop near Holyoke Gate and The Porcelain Club, it just happens to be one that Donna and I go to.
Scott Lord
ps. Embed my video if you'd like, I sincerely need to accelerate my study and or enjoyment of literature. What you read during a love affair is a significance: I'm presently in the middle of The Moon and Sixpence.
