Continuing the 250 th anniversary of the United States in the library of our church

I'm still looking through the John Adams Library, books owned by John Adams, despite one of our church members being on the board of the Boston Antheneum and despite the Revolutionary War display in the church lobby from The Congregational Library Archive. I substituted for the Freedom Trail tour guides quite well this morning with incoming tourists. Just reading right now in between patrons.

More of my life as a librarian's husband. One thing I spent the morning with was the John Adams library, books owned by John Adams (1735-1826) which included Sacred Poetry published by Jeremy Belknap in 1820. It is a volume of the Psalms with Hymns, almost every Hymn thought imaginable. Historian Jeremy Belknap was born here in Boston during 1744 and died in Boston in 1798.

As a book collector, President John Adams did have books from the 16th century. Scott Lord
