Existential Postscript

The most miraculous thing- although Hume seems to believe that testimony is not enough proof of a miracle, by virtue of its nature, to where to be other than the miracle would be implausible- with the internet, eventually I'll find David Hume's original wording.

The blizzard of 2015 was the subject of publicity before during and after, but our luck with scheduling held to where we were just coming back through Harvard Square and it's onset and the parking ban. The lights stayed on and by the end of the week we were in Boston having lunch together while picked up a copy of Hamlet, which I'm studying online with the University of  Birmingham- learning the moment of the quote The time is out of joint" and the quote "The glass of fashion and the mold of form, the observed of all observers".

Last night, I went out to the courtyard- we are blanketed in snow- with a high wind- and the wild rabbit could be seen beneath a tree on the other side of the railroad tracks- that area has recently been used as an on location movie set if you've been glancing through the blog.
I mentioned that oddly there is one patch of grass in the courtyard quad and coincidentally it is exactly where the wild rabbit could be found for the last two-three months. You would have no way of knowing ahead of time that the snow can't drift into that area due to the height of one side, which is actually nineteen floors of the skyline, and the leg to of the other side. Tonight it is exactly where the wild rabbit returned to, without our knowing how he found it. The actual snowfall buried bicycles, parking meters and trash barrels. We also have a hawk that might be reappearing, this one seems white whereas the other was a red tail. All that's really of interest in walking distance is the Boston Museum Science.

I'm running behind, or out of time with poetry, but we covered The Poetic Principle by Edgar Allen Poe with the online course from Harvard University. But add to that A Defense of Poetry by Percy Bysshe Shelley, which we are looking at for UPenn Poetry online.  If you liked the essay by Poe, by all means, read it with the essay by Shelley.

Cake

Our date while living together began with a pizza after shopping. She's a church librarian in Boston, so the theater was near where we usually spend our Sunday afternoon. We had a revealing discussion at the end. I thought there was going to be a reality switch where Jen jumps out of the hospital window and the girl that was deceased turns out to be the one that lived, but my fiancée explained that at the end when she sits up in the car, it was because she had gone through the window, so Inhad to ask how could that be, did she crash her car trying to save the girl that jumped off the bridge?
SO the film is almost made to be seen more than once. Does Jennifer Anniston playa dramatic character well? Very well considering she plays modern 21st century characters anyway, so when she seems out of her character she is already playing a typified modern woman of some sort, so that does work in the film.  Her age  comes off well with the character, then wisdom of not being young and inexperienced along with the do you believe this is happening to me.
The Taming of the Shrew is a neat play; I may have seen it performed on screen, but this is my second online class from the Shakespeare Birthplace trust and we haven't covered much of it online yet- more about my MOOCS later, we were at a film tonight. By the way, the rabbit was out in the courtyard tonight, so he was unharmed through any construction during the week and the first snow fall of the year- it's doubtfully we'll see him a lot during the weather predicted for this week. Almost every night since October he has been out there- he's wild. PostScript: I finished the second week of my third philosophy course online and I'm glad in that it is on Socretes and Kierkegaard was mentioned, which I why I enrolled, as a back up to the Keirkegaard course. I have 100% on both quizzes and used two attempts tonight, which is reasonable for Coursera- it's a completion for the week. The Kierkegaard has concluded, so I don't implicitly need the Socretes, but it is some College work for the week and it's inherent that the subjects of MOOCS vary as do the professors and University from which they're sent, ie. Edinburgh,Copenhagen and now Singapore, which is what I looked forward to when I began the first course on Scandinavian Film- I was super reluctant to add the poetry course from UPenn because it was from the United States.

My wild rabbit has been in the courtyard every night at midnight, near my ashtray. It's there now as it is beginning to lightly snow. My courses have resumed, making a total of seventeen weeks of philosophy, tonight's quiz came in at 100%, I'll self grade an 83% if I need a more reasonable number of attempts for the five out of six questions, but the machine reads 100% based on my studying. It's the third University, with certificates from both Edinburgh and Copenhagen, this time it's the University of Singapore. The body of work for poetry has resumed, if you'll allow Shelley and Byron from UPenn, UPenn leaves it's poetry study open for extra study after a certificate is received- so I can't really lose. The upcoming Shakespeare class has quizzes. Here is my course schedule from last year together with what I've decided upon for this. Scott Lord Scott Lord So there was the first week of this year's online classes: Shelley/Byron as an extra class and the regular Philosophy study with British Lieterature and American Literature later this week. I would retake both Art and or Film, which were a little under 90% were they not begun when the newer classes start.
